Nicholas is an oil painter who explores composition to create dynamic contemporary still life and floral paintings.
Life experiences have undoubtable influence Nicholas’s colourful and considered work. His paintings often feature ‘stuff close to home’ and quintessentially English paraphernalia which are clearly a reflection on the comfort and reassurance he has found in the familiar following his experience of being taken ill abroad. An example of this is his fascination with Cornishware which began on holiday as a young child where he remembers the ‘cheerful tableware’ and associates it with the joy of sun, sea and sand.
His paintings continue to evolve and engage as they explore tight and lose paint applications across delightful compositions.
