“Gouache is a fantastic paint of richly pigmented colour that sits flatly on the paper surface when used with little water. As I was trained using this medium, it remains my favourite. ‘Anemones in Ginger Jar’ uses the medium to rich effect aiming to recreate the velvety luxuriance of the petals. I also enjoy working on dark grounds as this emphasises the contrasts and creates eye catching colour. I hope all that view this work can enjoy it too.”
