“I am an Indian born, British artist based in London. Though trained as an architect and as a product designer, I chose to become a full time artist and a professional painter.
I am an elected member of the ‘Wapping Group of Artists’ and ‘British Plein Air Painters’ and also a co-founder of ‘The London Plein Air Group’.

I mainly paint from life in an impressionistic way to convey just enough about the subject and leave much to the viewer to discover. I am very excited to be showing three paintings in this show titled ‘Alla Prima’. As the name suggests all the featured paintings were painted plein air and Alla prima, meaning outdoors, in one setting, in one attempt.
Celebrating life in my paintings is what I do enjoy and I find myself naturally drawn to such subjects. Whether it is families enjoying a summer on Wells Beach or those crab catchers in Blakeney or summer walks at Cowes,- it’s all about capturing moments and those everyday activities of life.
Painting plein air does help me to bring the desired spontaneity in my work through careful observations of my subject as it unfolds and unwraps itself, in front of me.” Tushar
