Big White Bear
Charles Williams NEAC PRWS | Watercolour and Gouache | 16 x 24 inches
Charles Williams is a painter with a long history in figurative work, whose career began at the RA Schools in the early 1990s. His paintings have recently shifted from depicting people to depicting animals, and sometimes something peculiarly between the two. They’re not trying to make representations of creatures sighted on country walks, but rather, to make an experience a bit like a child’s relationship with a teddy bear, or a dog’s with its human. After all, we think we know what our labradoodle is saying when he barks at us, but do we really? What if he’s trying to tell us something important? Charles was recently elected President of the Royal Watercolour Society.
We do offer the Own Art Scheme to purchase artwork. At 0% APR, this is payable in equal instalments over 10 months. Please contact The Gallery for more information.
