“I’ve always enjoyed being creative, so from a young age I knew I wanted to go to art school.

I went to Glasgow School of Art 1984-1988, where I studied Drawing & Painting. Another passion of mine is animals. I was fortunate to be able to combine both painting and the love of animals when I became Artist in Residence at Edinburgh Zoo in 1996.

I generally paint in watercolour but recently I have been exploring acrylic paint. I enjoy the translucent qualities of the watercolour balanced against the opaqueness of the acrylic.” Janice
