“It seems a long time ago now but when East London docks were being developed to create Canary Wharf then the largest building sites in Europe, of course, at that time referred to as ‘London Docklands’. Here the tracery of Cranes creates interesting patterns against the sky. Similar to an earlier work ‘Metal Skies’ an impression of the building works of the Parliament buildings in Berlin. Interestingly Continental contractors tend to use more tower cranes than we do in Britain.”
