Gym Club for Old Heroes

Exhibition: Artist:

Adam De’Ville | Watercolour | 11 x 14 inches

Gym Club for old heroes is an affectionate commentary on ageing, expectation, and belonging. “What happens to our heroes when the night begins to draw in?”

”I prefer to begin a painting with a strong idea, but then see where the moment takes me. Some of the work is more deliberate, but I aim to keep an element of risk or chance. I love finding a face for the first time, or a place caught in the moment. I like exploring familiar aspects of popular culture and reoccurring themes of displacement and belonging. Storytelling is an essential part of the work.” Adam De’Ville
