“I work from my studio near the Thames estuary often beginning the work out in the location. Landscape has always been an important presence in my life. I love the rhythms of the seasons and the quiet stillness of Winter. The ever changing light and atmosphere never fails to move me to produce a creative response. It is no accident then that as a painter it has become my constant theme. For me it speaks of continuity and our interaction with its fragility is a vital issue that I have felt throughout my life.” Jonathan
