Cameron Galt RWA | Watercolour on Paper | 8.5 x 11 inches
“The ‘Yellow Jacket’ wasp depicted in this painting is ‘hijacking’ the sweet treat, hence the title. It is something of a red herring – a motif – because the vibrating frequency of one specific wasp species exactly matches the frequency of a Tesla Coil -which is the true representation of the painting. The Tesla Coil, signified by the image of the doughnut ring, is a Torus, a genus one level surface, the pure mathematical inspiration of Tesla’s industrial electrical Coil. The significance of the melting icing, the decomposition and decay that will be inevitably inflicted by the Yellow Jacket represents the risk to the planet from decadence, despite any green-washing industry narrative.
