“Welcome to my world of soft pastel water.

I love pastel for its immediacy, the tactile sensation, the direct contact with pure pigment, the freedom to apply it straight onto the surface. There’s something deeply intimate and personal about it. No mediums in between just you and the pastel.

I graduated from the Belorussian State Academy of Music, but I have always felt drawn to visual art. I paint seascapes and landscapes, often focusing on close-up views. These works reflect my desire to be immersed in those places; through each mark, I can return to that feeling again and again. Perhaps that is why I work in series.

In my practice, I seek to create a sense of presence, a quiet unity with nature. I am fascinated by the idea that everything exists through vibration, especially in water and grass, where movement becomes visible. I watch how light travels across the surface of water, from wave to wave, and how wind stirs the grass, catching sunlight as it moves. I am drawn to these subtle traces of the unseen, to observe them, capture them, and translate them into paint.” – Tanya
