Still Morning, River Wey
Emma Price ASGFA | Graphite, Charcoal and Pastel | 8 x 10.5 inches
“Having lived in both England and Australia, my work is an expression of emotional response and visual memory shaped by the landscapes I have lived in, travelled through, and connected with. Whether through painting or drawing, I explore themes that consistently underpin my practice: nature, the environment, and conservation.
My drawings are created primarily in graphite and charcoal, leaning more toward representation, often drawn from my own photographic references. These works offer a more immediate connection to the natural world, while still encouraging introspection and emotional engagement.
At the heart of my practice is a curiosity about the inner world our subconscious responses to the environments we move through, and how experiences resonate differently within each of us. Through my work, I hope to open conversations around memory, connection, and the deeply personal ways in which we interpret and hold on to the landscapes of our lives.” – Emma
