Sue Brown is an artist who uses printmaking and mixed media to tell stories.

Inspired by process as much as nature, her work springs from the pages of her sketchbooks. She develops carefully researched themes, exploring and developing them with paper lithography, printmaking and mixed media techniques.

Sue has been a full-time artist for over twenty years. She is inspired by the relationship we have with the natural world. Our interaction with the landscape looking closely at the impermanent structures we use on allotments or in fields. She is also fascinated by the antics of corvids and our relationship with the feathered visitors to her urban garden and allotment.

Sue has been developing a mixed media painting technique led by the printmaking process, paper lithography, adding to this printed surface a wide range of materials. She has recently published a book with Crowood Press call Paper Lithography. This describes the technique she has developed focusing on working into sketchbook pages, printing onto textiles and developing a mixed media practice.
