“I make drawings and paintings which study space, light and movement and explore themes of escapism. 

I’m interested in the fragmented and fleeting nature of experience; the interplay between submission and will; the moving and fixed and the figure and its environment in a constantly changing world.

My love for the horse in motion as a subject runs parallel with my figurative work. My sister works with competition horses, so I’ve had access to equine models for a long time, and been drawing them for many years. I’m interested in their shapes and dynamism and by removing any background context in the image, I aim to focus the viewer on their power and grace through the air.” Patsy
